Why are indians considered part of the Mediterranean race? when its no where near that sea?

I think wiki is trying to point out what Sergi believed, not what is actually the case. As far as I know, it is considered that there are three predominant races in the world: Caucasian, Mongoloid, and *******. At least it was when I went to school...
