How am I gonna fix this hair mess!?!?

Okay, so after being a fabulous golden blonde for the past four years (WAAA :( ..) I got bored of the expence and roots constantly so decided to opt for a bit of change.. feeling rebellious I threw a red shade of XXL Live into my hair... it was fab and a greta change, but feded rapidly.. SO i redyed it a week later... it was then I decided I absolutely hate being a red head, and wanna go back blonde. THEN I discover red is one of the hardest pigments to get out of hair as it just clings, ESPECIALLY to blonde hair :( FML. Sooooo, being the broke *** student I am, I took matters into my own hands, and bleached my hair using a home bleaching kit... it did lighten my hair dramatically, and remvoing the red in some places but still leaving a slight tinge... I then threw in a light brown dye.. but it has come out terrifically bad. My hair is a mousy brown with red in the front and fading in areas to reveal bleached white hair. :|... I have now called my hair dresser for highlights hoping to help this problem........... I KNOW the damage I have done to my hair is terrible, it's brittle and in bits.. but could anyone give a bit of input, advice.. is this a good idea (obviously not for the care of hair), but do you think it'll help patch up the problem slightly... I'd love to be blonde again!!! :(
