Friend and mom trouble. please help?

finding friends is really hard for me. i'm the quiet type and im unpopular. this doesnt bother me but making friends is sooooo hard! i was friendless and unhappy at my skl for 2 years until this girl came and now we're sorta best friends. Now i find out my MOM doesnt approve of her! shes unreliable when it comes to organising things and her parents dont have much to do with her so when she comes to my place and sleeps over my parents drive her around becuase hers don't. they said they want me to have a friend with normal parents. mom said i should try make new friends next semester with new kids but thats hard and i also dont wanna just ditch my best friend!
